Sometimes, a client link goes down and we need to log a fault with a vendor. But, since we tend to be quite busy it isn’t necessarily possible to continuously monitor a service to see when it comes back up.
I myself often only check tickets twice a day. Once in the morning and then sometime again during the day. Sometimes I am so busy that an entire day will go by before I check back in on the status of a ticket and to see if the link is back up. Generally our providers are very good with fault resolution but some clients’ services are just more critical than others.
For this, it would be great to set a monitor and reminder on critical tickets. In other words, set a watchdog to see if the service state changes to online and notify you, or if the service remains offline, remind you every x hours. Weekends are especially critical.
We value customer service highly and automations like this will help us keep up the high standards we pride ourselves on.
